Two funds, two names, one idea
Both were established in memory of people who mattered here, and both do the same thing: pay tuition for a woman working toward a degree while she rebuilds her life.
Education is the difference between a family that gets through this year and a family that never has to come back. Our funds pay tuition for women already in the care of the charities we support.
Fund one
In fundraisingRobert Carlini Educational Memorial Fund
The Robert Carlini Educational Memorial Fund has been established and is currently in the fundraising stage. We will continue raising money through the end of the year, then make distributions in the form of grants to women enrolled in educational programs who are in the care of one of the charities we support.
That means women currently in the programs at Agape Resource and Assistance Center, Shiloh Place of McKinney, and Emily’s Place. These are women who already have housing, case management, and a plan. Tuition is often the last thing standing between them and finishing.
Depending on the amount donated and the number of candidates who qualify, we expect to continue funding grants beyond the first round.

Candidates are put forward by the charity caring for them. We do not take applications directly from individuals.
The charity nominates
Agape, Shiloh Place, or Emily’s Place puts forward a woman in their program who is enrolled in school.
We award the grant
The grant is approved against the funds raised and the number of qualifying candidates that year.
Paid to the charity
The money goes to the charity in the name of the grant recipient, never as cash to an individual.
They report back
The charity sends Caring Hearts annual updates on the progress the grantee is making toward her educational goals.

In memory of Helen Snow
An extremely loving wife, mother, and grandmother, an incredibly kind and loyal friend, Helen was loved by so many and will be missed, especially by her tennis teams, who counted on her for a line win most matches.
An educational fund has been established in Helen’s name. Every year we will award a grant to one mother for tuition.
One grant, one mother, every year. It is a small promise, and it is one we intend to keep for as long as the fund allows. The donors listed below are the reason it exists.

Common questions
Before you give
Can I apply for a grant directly?
No. Candidates are nominated by the charity caring for them. If you are in a program at Agape, Shiloh Place, or Emily’s Place and you are enrolled in school, talk to your case manager about being put forward.
Why is the money paid to the charity?
The grant is paid to the charity in the name of the recipient rather than as cash to an individual. It keeps the funds accountable, it keeps the charity in the loop on her progress, and it means the charity can apply it directly against tuition.
How do you know it worked?
The charity provides Caring Hearts with annual updates on the progress each grantee is making toward her educational goals. We publish what we learn, without naming anyone who has not agreed to be named.
Can I direct my gift to one fund?
Yes. Both funds appear in the fund selector on the donation page. Restricted gifts are tracked separately and spent only on that fund.
Can I give in memory of someone?
Yes. Check the memorial box when you give, or reach out and we will handle it personally. Both of these funds started exactly that way.
Are these gifts tax deductible?
Yes. Community of Caring Hearts Charity is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and gifts are deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

Our goal is to distribute 100% of the net proceeds from every event we host to nonprofit organizations in our community. Administrative costs run under 1% of gross income, because nobody here draws a salary.
