How it works
Raise it here, vet it, give it away
The Community of Caring Hearts Charity was formed in 2012 by a group of community minded charitable individuals with a desire to serve those in need in our community. It is a registered 501(c)(3) charity and it is entirely volunteer run. There is no paid staff.
We raise funds through the promotion of charitable events. The money raised from those events and from donations is allocated to local charities identified through a vetting process by our board. We look for organizations that are stable and operating with low operating costs, because that is where a grant does the most work.
Donors can give confidently knowing that funds will be maximized and pooled with other donations to make an impact far larger than individual contributions could on their own. That is the multiplier effect, and it is the whole reason this organization exists rather than everyone just giving separately.

The goal of our organization is to distribute 100% of the net proceeds from each event we host to nonprofit organizations in our community.

No paid staff. Our administrative costs are less than 1% of gross income, so the impact of donor proceeds is far greater than at similar organizations.

Charities are identified through a vetting process by the board. We ensure the charities we designate are stable and operating with low operating costs.

Ten volunteers, no salaries
The board reads every grant request, works the events, and signs off on the books. Janeen Bellissimo serves as President, Olivia Kemp as Vice President, Jeff Hicks as Secretary, and Joe DeMartino as Treasurer.
